Track and Field | Old Boy News

Riding on the success of the Trinity Track and Field programme and the selection of Rohan Browning (2015) for the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, another Old Boy is also setting Personal Best Performances and has now amassed three Olympic Qualifying times in the 1500m: Oliver Hoare, also from the class of 2015.
After running an Australian Indoor Record and an Olympic Qualifying Standard in the 1500m in February this year – 3.32.35s, and then backing this up with another Olympic Qualifying standard (Outdoor) with a 3.33.54s in April, Olli continues to improve, running an (outdoor) personal best performance and his 3rd Olympic Qualifying Standard at the USATF Golden Games, Hilmer Lodge Stadium, Walnut, CA on the 9th May 2021. His time of 3.33.19 ranks him (currently) number 2 in the World!

Although Olli has not officially been named in the Olympic Team (the full team will be announced in June), it is very exciting to follow Olli’s progress and we look forward to reporting on his next race.
