Sportsmaster | Junior School

It has been a very fast start to the year!

The boys are enjoying getting into their PE lessons, learning new skills and revisiting old ones. The FAST programme has also started well as we endeavour to not only make our boys active, but also active with correct technique.

This Saturday February 6th there is NO SPORT. Round 1 of all summer sports commences next week, February 13th. With trialling now complete all boys will know by Monday which team they will be commencing their Summer season in.

On the TGS App is a draft draw with fixtures, venues, including addresses and dates of the first six rounds of Summer Sport in Term One. Please download the app and select Junior School Sport notifications as well as your relevant year group if you haven’t done so this far. If there are any sport cancellations, I will update the app first then the Wet Weather Line. (1300 788 477)

Game Times and Locations

Please pay careful attention to the fixtures list, noting time and the venue most importantly. Please be at the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the game. The time specified on the app & in the newsletter is game start time.

Swimming Trials for Junior School 2021 Swim Team.

Next Tuesday are the swimming trials for selected Year 2-6 boys. You should have received an email regarding the trials this week and replied to me by email if you wish your son to swim in this event.

Tuesday Morning Training

To those boys who have been selected in the 1s t V, 2nd V or 4A V Basketball teams, the 1st team, 5A or 4A Cricket sides or Touch Football ‘A’ team in 2021 there is a compulsory session each Tuesday morning at 7am commencing next week, Tuesday, February 9th and running through, until and including Tuesday March 16th. The Basketballers will train in the Centenary Centre & Softfall/Old Gym (if wet) under the direction of Mr Dizon and Mr Louttit. The Cricketers will be training at Summer Hill on No. 3 Oval and nets at the same time with Mr Mugridge, Mr Maddox and Mr Cassell. The Touch Footballers will meet Miss Martin and Miss Pollitt on No.1 Oval at 7am sharp. Any boys not selected in these teams but wishing to improve are encouraged to attend but it is not compulsory. Please do not turn up part way through a session as it inhibits the valuable time these sessions can produce.

Once again if you have any questions or unsure of the requirements of the boys to attend their Saturday sporting event, please do not hesitate in getting in contact with myself on 9581 6136 or 0438980602.
