Sportsmaster | Junior School

We have a busy term ahead in the sporting calendar with numerous events on throughout Term 2.

This week we finalised teams for the commencement of the winter season. There can and will be small modifications over the first 2-3 weeks as boys are assessed in games against opposition. The Rugby, AFL, Football, and Intra Football seasons all commence tomorrow. All the boys are eager to play and should know their team for tomorrow’s matches, where they need to be, and the time of arrival. Please arrive ready to warm up 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement as highlighted on the team lists in the Junior School News.

Please make sure that each week you check the TGS app for updated information for weekly and seasonal fixtures.

Our Football home matches and Intra Sport matches for 2021 will be back at Bressington Park, Underwood Rd, Homebush be aware parking is metered within the Bressington carpark.

Traditional Rugby will be contested for the 1st XV, 11A and 10A primarily at Cooke Park, Madeleine St Belfield or at the TGS campus. Sevens Rugby will be held at Koola Park, Lindfield for this season. We have one team in each age group in this concept as well.

The sole combined AFL team will contest matches each week at ELS Hall field in North Ryde.

Mr Bishop (nbishop@trinity.nsw.edu.au) is the MIC of Football so any queries regarding football initially please direct to him. Mr Short (ashort@trinity.nsw.edu.au) is the MIC of Rugby, any matters initially can be directed to him. Mr Hoare (phoare@trinity.nsw.edu.au) will be the contact regarding AFL issues.

CODE OF CONDUCT – SPORT

As we ready for the start of the winter sport season it is very important that we revisit and reiterate the Code of Conduct expected of our players, parents and spectators when engaged in both Trinity and inter-school sporting competitions. From time to time issues occur and it is important that as a school community we address and discuss these as they may arise. If you are concerned about the conduct of a player, official or coach, please refer your issue directly to the Sportmaster, Mr. Chris Robinson (crobinson@trinity.nsw.edu.au) or our Head of the Junior School, Mr. Mark Dunn (mdunn@trinity.nsw.edu.au). Parents and supporters are not to make complaints to coaches and officials during or after the game and under no circumstances should parents contact other schools directly.

The Trinity Grammar School Code of Conduct can be viewed in the School Record book on page 33.

IPSHA Cross Country

To complement a busy start to the term the re-scheduled IPSHA Cross Country event took place at The King’s School on Wednesday. We had 18 boys compete and congratulations go to Daniel Simpson (6Ta), Jayden Bechara (6Yo) and Jonah Chan (3La) who all finished in the first 15 places of their age group. Daniel finished a close 2nd and Jayden 8th in the U12 event run over 3km of undulating terrain within Kings. Jonah placed 4th over a testing 2km course also within the confines of Kings in the U9 race. The three boys will now represent IPSHA at the CIS Cross Country to be held on 10 June.
