AMEB Theory of Music

This week students will have sat their Grade 1 and Grade 2 Theory of Music examinations for the very first time online.  These examinations are usually held onsite in August but have had to be rescheduled and conducted in a different format.  Thanks, and our appreciation to Mrs Trynes who has worked tirelessly with and for the students since February to enable them to do their very best.  Good luck boys and we look forward to celebrating your achievements.  Grades 3 and Grade 4 will be later in the year.

Results available at the time of writing are that all boys in Grade 1 received High Distinctions with four boys achieving 100%.  Great work everyone!

Concerto Competition

The Concerto Competition will go ahead in remote mode for 2021. Preparatory and Junior School students will be competing in the Junior Competition Section. During Week 4, students will be able to upload a 3-minute section of their Concerto which will constitute the Heats Section. Students should submit this as a video to Mrs Dinora Marquez- dmarquez@trinity.nsw.edu.au  in Google or Cloud share format. The closing date will be Friday 29th October.

Heads of Sections and Dr McGregor will judge these over the course of week 5 and announce the finalists. The Finals will take place in Week 7 or 8. Dr McGregor will confirm the date once he is clear about whether this will be a video submission where accompaniment can be used or not.

Student Success

Congratulations to Marcus Yu who competed at the Ryde Eisteddfod during the holidays in the Vocal Character Song 7yrs and Under section and was awarded 2nd Place.

Some students have and will be undertaking their practical ABRSM and AMEB examinations via video during the course of this term.  Congratulations to Anthony Nader for achieving a Distinction for his Grade 1 Piano examination over the holidays.
