Do You Know The Relationship between Arts and Minds:

Music boosts dopamine lowers cortisol and makes you feel great. Your brain is better on music.

Term 2 Music Centre Procedures

As we move into a new term, I would like to acknowledge the great resilience and reliability the boys have demonstrated over the last 18 months regarding bringing the necessary equipment to instrumental music lessons and co-curricular ensemble rehearsals. This has been supported by the excellent and ongoing communication from the Instrumental Music staff to parents regarding Instrumental Music progress.  We would like to see this continue and request that parents and students continue to adhere to the following procedures:

  • parent attendance at Instrumental lessons will be by invitation only by the Instrumental Music Teacher
  • please email the Instrumental Teacher to request attendance (2 per term)
  • PK-K boys who are just commencing lessons may be invited on more occasions as deemed necessary for support
  • boys are to deliver their instruments to the Music Centre at the start of the day and collect at the end of the day
  • forgotten instruments or music books will continue to not be accepted at Reception or the Music Centre by parents

Whilst we appreciate the involvement of parents, we are keen to continue promoting student independence and reliability. It is also important that students learn how to deal with and overcome disappointments or challenges such as a forgotten instrument.

Please read this carefully together with the letter sent by Mr Kell Daniels concerning the purchase of tickets. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Campbell gcampbell@trinity.nsw.edu.au.

Members of Trinity Singers are excused from music rehearsals or Co-curricular activities on Wednesday afternoon 2nd June to enable them to be back at Angel Place by 6pm.

Chamber Ensemble

On Tuesday mornings six dedicated string students who form the Chamber Ensemble can be found and heard in the Mozart Room working with Mrs Campbell. The students learn repertoire from Rock such as Cold Play to the Baraque, Classical and Romantic period composers such as Bach, Mozart and Schubert. The ensemble is preparing for the Strings Soiree Concert on 10th May and for a recording they will do next week of a beautiful and haunting arrangement of Be Thou My Vision called Slane.
